Project goals

Overall objectivechildren-fishing-village

To support Africa Renewal Ministries in their mission to help less privileged children in their development to healthy and responsible persons.

Specific objective

Training and equipping less advantaged children with modern agricultural and income generating skills.

Agricultural education will provide these children, who lack the mental or financial possibilities to attend higher education, the possibility to secure their future by enabling them to run a small farm. This will provide them with animal products, both for their own consumption and for trade purposes.

The project will also result in a contribution towards the nutritional needs of the children living in Bethany Village.

Project goals

A group of 16 to 20 students is able to follow a two-year training on how to run a small economically viable business in pig or chicken rearing, and a group of 100 primary school children receives practical education on raising pigs and chicken.

Within a year an in potential economically viable business has been set up, in chicken and in pig rearing, suitable for giving practical training to at least 8-10 young people each.

During the two years of the project there is such an investment in human capital that the project staff is more and more capable of supervising students towards independent decision-making, enterprising and creativity.
