Foundation EduCare is based in Enschede, The Netherlands. It works for people whom are lagging behind in education of whom have limited development possibilities. EduCare works as well as in Holland as in other countries.
The Dutch projects are focusing on decreasing lags in education for children and adults from other nationalities. Children receive help with their homework and studies in general, but there are also a number of courses available and we do seminars and workshops too. But, any project that helps people to improve their situation through a better education is welcomed!
Internationally, the International Projects Team (IP-team) supports local partners which want to improve the access to education and the quality of it. The IP-team supports with advise and other partners, and with helping to find funding for the project.

Collaboration with ARM
We find strong partnerships very important, in which the qualities of both organisations are used for the advantage of the local people. At this moment we are supporting ARM in two other projects:
The AIDS Education project
20 students are trained by a professional organisation to do HIV/AIDS extension. During the year 2008 they have conducted different activities for reaching out to the local communities. They have done interactive presentations, answered many questions and even started some AIDS awareness clubs. The students were very involved in this, also because many of them have experienced what AIDS can do in a family.
These activities were combined with a grant for 1,5 years of their studies, since these students didn’t have other possibilities for starting their so desired studies.
Student sponsoring project
Since a number of years, EduCare has found a number of sponsors willing to help poor students from Uganda. In this project the students receive a grant to pay for their tuition fees.
Last year this project received a great impulse from the university of InHolland. They organised a minor in which their students received knowledge and skills on education in developing countries, and the Ugandan students received funding to continue their studies. The Dutch students contributed very much to make this work!
